So i contemplated entering the last 2 photo contests that made the rounds. It's so fun to look at everyone's work and be inspired and vote on the images. In both cases, I tried to take photos before the contest closed. I did take photos. They are not worth posting.

So I'm going to keep my eyes peeled for things that make me smile before that contest ends...hopefully I will have more luck with that. It should be a fun mindstretcher. Most days here contain some sights touching or absurd, like little curly headed french kids waiting to take the ferry with their adorable roundy-pregnant mommy, or a seagull attempting to eat a starfish.

I worked on an imac for three months at Corbett Cibinel in Winnipeg using the very Mac-friendly VectorWorks. Now that I'm in Vancouver at Hughes Condon Marler I do my work in Autocad on....a flat-screen Dell.

Every once in a while I think of what

fraserspeirs would say and shed a little tear. The imac was very beautiful.

A few days ago I posted this link showing a video of my group members and I pulling the formwork out of an arch we built.

The video had exceeded its allowed data transfer, but it seems to be working again. So, go have a look while it's still up!

And please do comment again if it doesn't work. Within a few days, though, it will probably be hosted on my classmate's ED website and this problem shouldn't occur anymore.

Snow?!

We're having a heavy snowstorm right now. This is really unseasonal, even for Winnipeg. Last year in April I remember walking around without a jacket, and wearing t-shirts and skirts to my summer class in May. Today, we've already had a half-foot of snow. So much for going to the beach anytime soon!

The power was out for about an hour this morning, probably due to the snowstorm.

EDIT: I now discover the studio project is due on the 12th, not the 14th. There was a discrepency between the course outline and the brief. This doesn't bode well for my easter weekend.

This actually doesn't seem quite as bad when it's put into list format. I can't believe it will be over in just a few weeks.
And then, Sylvia's wedding is on May 8th, and I start working at Ten Thousand Villages again on April 17th, and begin at either mini-university or another undiscovered summer job.

I can't wait for summer...
